Why I'm Here

SoCal resident with no musical talent throughout the family. I decided to pick up guitar because I needed a new hobby to keep me challenged. I have been playing for about a year now. My first guitar was an Ibanez AS-75 hollowbody. Great guitar but I ended up selling it after purchasing a few others. My first acoustic was a Yamaha FG-710.

After a few months of trying to learn on my own and struggling with the theory side, I started taking lessons. My teacher was primarily an electric guitar player with 40+ years experience and really helped fill in the gaps around theory. Shortly after starting lessons, I decided to pick up an PRS SE Soapbar solidbody to help follow along with the lessons. A few months passed and I realized I was always reaching for my acoustic. The only issue was it doesn’t have a cutout so playing they scales and exercises my teach gave me was difficult. This led to my fourth guitar purchase which was a Taylor 214ce-SB DLX. At this point I knew I preferred acoustic over electric, that or I had an issue with buying too many guitars… (Update, just added a Guild OM-120 to my collection as a birthday present to myself)

I recently moved resulting in me not being able to take lessons my guitar teacher any more. After watching many guitar reviews by Tony, I decided to try TAC instead of the traditional teacher route.

City

I have always had a hobby that allows me to drown out everything else that is going on in life. After skateboarding for 20 years, my body doesn't recover like it used to. Guitar has been able to fill that gap while providing endless challenges without the injuries.
