Why I'm Here

I started to play guitar at age 50.  My daughter wanted to learn how to play and I started taking lessons from the same instructor.  She isn’t playing much anymore but I continue to take guitar lessons from ‘the world’s most patient man’,  Matt O’Brien. So after 12 years I’m still not a very good guitarist but I do love to play. Work gets in the way but I try to practice 5 hours per week at a minimum.

I’ve played at a couple open mics and I’m working on some new songs for a next one. Takes me a couple months to get  new songs ready and that’s just to strum chords and sing.

I play mostly acoustic guitar. I have a wonderful Tanglewood TSM-2.  I also have a Fender Tele.

City

There are so many great songs out there that I want to play. I'm a better singer than guitar player, so I just have to keep improving on the guitar. Hopefully, when I retire, I can be playing well enough to perform music during church services, maybe even become a worship leader.
