Why I'm Here

Born and raised in Michigan, my wife and 2 teen daughters love to explore our state and go camping during the warmer months.  In 2014 I decided to learn to play guitar because I always thought it was a lot of fun when someone plays around a campfire while everyone else sings along.  Since then I have become a little obsessed with guitars and playing.  I play acoustic and sing often in church, sometimes solo and other times with my eldest daughter.  I have also begun to learn electric bass and play in our church’s band.  I love to get together with some friends at one of our houses or a local coffee shop called Stomping Grounds and just jam with either my acoustic or bass.

I have owned several guitars in the 3 years I’ve been playing, right now I have an Ibanez acoustic, a Breedlove Mahogany Passport, a parlor guitar made by The Loar and a Taylor 814ce.

For work I am the Sr. Manager of Customer Service for a company called Covenant Eyes.  I’ve been there for a little over 7 years and honestly love my job.  It is rare that I don’t want to go to work every day.

I have become more or less proficient at strumming and singing, I want to learn to utilize more of the neck and especially to begin learning how to fingerpick.
