Why I'm Here

Hello, I’m a One Man Band from Northern Wisconsin.  I play music full time.  I have a real good ear for music and basic theory but I usually play cowboy chords and use a capo. I can play barre chords some and am a creative thinker so I can come up with good sounding ideas. I’m a trained professional drummer so I have excellent rhythm.  I want to learn more about the fretboard, how to pick better, fingerpick, basically….just become a better player. I’ve been playing the same sort of stuff for too long and it’s time to get better.  I’m excited about jumping into this and looking forward to meeting new people and learning new things.  I play a Taylor 110 on stage cuz I scratch my stuff up alot. I also have a Taylor DN3 that sounds amazing, a Gretch Electromatic hollowbody, amps, studio gear, etc, etc.  I use a Fishman Loudbox onstage for my live amp (Artist).   I’ve been involved in music for about 56 years. I started playing around with the guitar at age 4 and I’ll be 60 soon. I started playing drums at 13, in my first band actually playing out of state in ballrooms at age 16 so I have alot of performance experience.

I want to learn to be able to play with more experienced guitar players better and also to be able to write more interesting chord progressions.  Also, just to have more guitar fretboard knowledge so I have the tools available to do the above proficiently.
