Why I'm Here

I played for a few years 40+ years ago. About a year ago I started back up with my old Yamaha FG180, then began upgrading, then acquiring GAS (guitar acquisition syndrome). I now have 9 guitars, all in the $300-$500 range and a Yamaha LS16. As I’m learning to play better and a finger-picking newbie, also figuring what size body, woods, strings, scale length & widths are my favorites. My favorites are a sold mahogany Seagull concert hall and an Ibanez 12-fret slope shoulder dread. Just have fun messing around with a Washburn parlor and an Applause (Ovation) 12-string.

City

I grew up with music being a major part of my identity. I kinda grew up with the Beatles. Went to many live shows, around $3.50-$5 to see Hendrix, Doors, Janis, Who, Allman Bros, Jefferson Airplane, Buffalo Springfield, etc. I guess I just put that all behind, including playing, to work umpteen hours and raise a family (with a local concert thrown in now & then). But now, it's fun again! Perhaps I'll be able to entertain the grandkids at get-togethers. It's simply a great hobby and get to see & hear marked improvement. Beats mind-numbing hours of watching TV, for sure.
