Why I'm Here

I’m a moved from NY to FL  retired civil engineer Baby Boomer back in the guitar saddle after a 40 year hiatus. I had a Fender Mustang at 13 in 1966, sold it in 1968 after saving two years for a Gibson ES-335, which I sold in 1972 (still kicking myself) and bought a three year old Martin D-18, which I still have. I started taking lessons again in 2014 and found it to be like riding a bicycle, albeit a bit wobbly. I’ve since acquired a Gibson E-137, a Gretsch 6120 Chet Atkins and my lifelong dream, a Martin D-42. I also picked up a 1968 Gibson B-45-12 string, a 1983 Gibson Hummingbird, a Rickenbacker 360-12 I’ve wanted since first hearing Roger McGuinn play Mr. Tambourine Man, and a Taylor 814ce I just bought for my retirement. I told my wife I’m done. We’ll see? I play every day and am loving it.

City

Simply to expand my repertoire and increase my enjoyment of playing. Also to better appreciate and grasp the depth and concepts of modern music theory. The more you know, the more you realize how little you know. The pleasure and the mathematics of music is incredible.
