A glass of red wine
Coffee nearby and the rest of the household asleep so there are no distractions or interuptions.
Coffee, kitchen table
I crack open an ice code Dr Pepper and head on  down to the family room, get out the D28, and plop on the couch.
I drink coffee and play.
I have a music room
I typically practice when no one is home. I still shy to play in front of others. Hope that goes away soon.
Just me my morning coffee and the guitar oh and my three dogs
Mostly in a special room
My couch
my quiet bedroom
Usually have a nice hot cup of tea beside me when practicing.
with chronic pain I must sit on a soft chair/couch.  Need quiet to focus and enjoy the sound.

A quiet room a comfortable “playing” chair, and my guitar(s) within reach…
Always on the living room couch & I usually start with a few of the same tunes before I try anything new
Anywhere I can get away from the chaos of 4 kids.  Sometimes I get started on a binge by showing my 13 year old son something.
I do keep guitars out in 3 rooms, designed a guitar barstool, have another “very cool” bent plywood armless chair, music room that is quite comfortable. Chardonnay werx best for me!!
I just need a quiet space.  A glass of wine can be a help.
I like to time my practice sessions so I know exactly how much I am practicing.
I start flat picking in the early afternoon. I work on new material with coffee. If I’m performing, I polish the numbers I want to kick butt. If I’m chilling for the evening, I’ll pick a little, sometimes with the sound off the TV. I’ll watch something that interests me. It’s not uncommon for me to play my best from midnight to 420. I short breaks when I get hot. I take major long movie watching breaks before midnight. This is a typical day 5 days a week.
I usually like to play when I’m alone in the house – that way I don’t have to worry my constant repitition will get on someone’s nerves! I play in one room where I am most comfortable, but can play elsewhere.
I work from home, so I take guitar breaks during the day.
Just change out of my work clothes and into something more comfortable to play in.
Man cave behind closed door
Mostly up in my “music room” which is away from the mayhem in the rest of the house. Or on the rear deck, weather and bugs permitting.
often practice sitting in front of my computer
The bar- stool at the kitchen counter is just perfect to perform

A cup if tea and my fine hounds at my feet as I practice my Ginja moves.
actually I have to share my practice space, so it often gets by-passed
As much as my family enjoy listening to me play/sing, I usually wait until everyone is gone so I feel like I have nothing else to worry about except my playing/practicing
I always play in the living room
I have a music room where I practice or play with friends.
I leave one out all the time, so I may pick it up at any moment!
I like evening, but practice almost every morning at 4:30. Then I like coffee. The house is quiet and I practice until my wife knocks on the door for breakfast at 5:30.
I like to be away from everybody else, on the couch with the fan going overhead.
I play while I make dinner
I’m still figuring it out. I fidget & adjust, and try out different chairs and stools. I haven’t found that sweet spot yet. I like to be outside and alone the best. Free to make mistakes, and let it rip if I’m in the mood.
Modelo and a tuner.
Music room
My couch tea or rum depending on the mood
Playing set place in the house
Privacy (whether when alone, or in the “multi-purpose” room away from others, try for comfy chair without arms, guitar stool or standing with strap, and hot coffee, iced tea or soda depending on weather and time of day, basically anything that helps me feel relaxed and un-rushed
Right after I get home from work is the best time to unwind and play.
Special Room…close the door and everything outside of it.
Usually in my office/study with one of the cats watching (waiting for the lap to clear), still trying to find the best chair/stool to sit on
Watching NCIS

I like practicing in the morning after a cup of coffee then I go play in my bedroom/music room. When I have the place to myself I sneak into the living room and play. I haven’t got to the stage where I feel I have the confidence to play in front of other’s.

I love the cup of coffee step in your routine!!! The stage will be there when you are ready 🙂

I have my guitar hanging in the living room so I can pick it up at anytime, usually, multiple times per evening. If I am writing or working hard on a song I will go to the basement where I have limited distractions. I do enjoy slow sipping a whiskey drink while I’m playing at home or live.

I play nearly every morning and evening and it could be the living room, bedroom or bathroom. If I want to play in the bedroom with the missus present and she’s watching TV then it will be an unplugged electric.
I probably spend the most time playing an acoustic whilst on the loo – sometimes with the sheet music I’m practising/learning on top of the laundry basket.

Ahhh the universal guitar practice room… I was wondering when that was going to be mentioned 🙂 Also, the use of the unplugged electric is a wonderful “silent” practice tool!!!

My creation space is in my basement which is heated and fiberglass insulated and also has a hung ceiling that has fiberglass tiles. This makes it also a good place to record so my Mac is setup there, too. Nearby I’ve got a workroom setup for restoring and setting up guitars. As well as a small makeshift photo studio. I am down there most days, afternoons and evenings. Life is good! Very good!

A creation space indeed, I am sure if I had that it would be tough to separate me from it 🙂 Thanks so much for sharing!!!

Mornings about half hour or so before work, I go through the lessons. On my days off which is 3 to 4 days a week, depending on the week, I get a couple of hours in, I like to go through the weeks lessons, work on scales, timing and learn the caged system. It is a great way to start the day.

I practice almost every day, in the evenings after work. I have a designated music room, but usually wind up in the living room on the sofa with the TV in the background, or at the dining room table. Since I live in a condo, I use the TV noise to camoflage my playing, so the neighbors won’t howl. On weekends and days off, if I am home, I have a guitar in my arms.
If it were up to me, I would play 8 hours a day!!

Thank you for sharing your routine 🙂 I am a huge fan of sofa time with the guitar, My guitar and I happen to visit my sofa quite frequently as well!!!

Usually in the morning after the basics are done (including walking the dog), then a 2nd cup of coffee, play for about an hour in my room for which my daughter painted a sign “Daddies Guitar Studio”. Then on with the rest of my day, until early evening. Then its a nice IPA and get in about an hour before my girls get home…

Just finished building the top floor of my house which now gives us a spare room/music room.
Manage to spend a bit of extra money sound dedening the rooms so I can make a bit more noise and get back into playing guitar again.

So, once the kids are asleep I can crack open a beer or a scotch and head upstairs for about 1 or 2 hours each evening. Either playing old stuff I know and relax or work hard on trying to learn new skills.

This sounds so nice!!! Congrats on your music room!!! What a great place to hide away for a bit, enjoy a scotch, and make some music!!!

When I get back from walking my 2 dogs early in the morning, I’ll make myself a cup of coffee and sit down start working on my chops and try to put a good hour in before the day beckons. Also I try to play in the evenings and if possible try out new songs on the dogs .

I love that routine!!! That actually closely resembles mine… sometimes the dogs get a longer walk than other times… it depends on how much guitar I need to play. If I short them in the morning, I make it up with a trip to the dog park in the evening 🙂

Mine was the glass of red wine, but confession : NOT IN THE MORNING! If I did that my chances of finishing practice and catching the commuter train would be slim. My real morning routine is : walk dogs, take shower, practice very quietly for 10 minutes, run out door to catch train.

Thank you for the clarification 🙂 Lol I saw that and was wondering how that could be done in the morning. Thanks for sharing your routine!!!

evening – but I share my office/practice space with my wife, so her business phone calls can destroy a practice plan quickly.

Thanks for sharing!!! I would encourage you to play as loud as you can when the phone rings… on second thought to maintain harmony, maybe that’s not the best idea 🙂
