For my Next 90, I will be Focusing on the following skills

    * Fretting hand skills including hammer-ons Pull-offs and slides with a focus mainly on learning to do this with a pick (it’s still like rubbing my head and patting my belly)

    * Flat Picking Bootcamp, which I kind of remember being there, but I don’t see it in the skills courses anymore??? – I already went through the jumpstart.

    * Fretboard Wizard when it starts up for the session

    My Routine will be
    * Daily Challenge in the morning after work – 10 minutes
    * When I wake after a cup of coffee – Fretting hand toolbox – 10 minutes

*Practice FBW skills etc for 10 minutes after supper, before I brew my coffee for work

    * Monday afternoons (I am off Monday nights) study FBW material 30 mins
    * Saturday (or whenever I can squeeze in time) Just play and enjoy the instrument
*Sunday – Uke Day!! (oh and maybe learn harmonica or dulcimer) [EDIT]Almost forgot… Sunday is Jam day with the kids and Dad for a couple hours in the evening too!!![/EDIT]

This will be done at my tiny Desk in my room.

If I run into roadblocks, I will reset the day I can get back at it. I find that playing catch-up doesn’t really work and doesn’t produce results. However, this time I will keep a logbook of my practices including the time spent on each skill and how I felt it went.

During the 90 days, I hope to commit 1 pop song, 1 country/bluegrass song, and one traditional song that I don’t already know to my repertoire. They may not be great, but I intend to learn them. I will continue to work on scales and stretchy hand warmups as they come back around since I no longer have that library at my fingertips (pun intended)… It sure is a good thing we get new ones every week 🙂

(after this 90 I have plans for slide guitar and blues)

Yeah, the kids are fun to play with. Still making slow progress through 30 days to play with my son. Today was Dani’s first day back to in person school, and she impressed her guitar teacher, so she is doing well.

The reorganization of the living room has begun, so they can stop raiding my room when they want to play together.

I really like your goal setting. I am taking your example and writing down what I plan on accomplishing in the next 90 days. Thank you so much for setting an example.

I posted it here to make me accountable to you! If I don’t post a song a month, call me out!

I’m sure for the rest, I will post in the community help forum to vent frustration, seek motivation, and help along the way.

Great plan. Inspired me to put my own on paper (well, not really paper…more bites and ones and zeros, but you get the point…)

    Hope to ear those songs.
