Nothing Else Matters – VOM performance March 2021
Posted by DavidScoggins on April 3, 2021 at 7:05 pmHere’s a recent performance of mine from the virtual open mic nights, a cover of Metallica’s Nothing Else Matters. This one is still very much a work in progress for me and a long-term project, but also a song which is helping me develop my skills immensely.

Make sure to post a follow up of your progress in a month. Nice Job.

A really good “work in progress” as you call it, but I enjoyed it.
Thanks for sharing!

Thank you Fly, Erik B, Tim, Michael and Jake. I seemed to be working on this for ages, both in terms of finger picking and remembering the melody and then it clicked. Still plenty of work to do on it, but it’s one of those songs which I’ll work on and develop over time.

Very nice. Not what I typically expect when I hear Metallica 🙂

Thanks David, Darcelle, @JulieI and @Dom_T. I need to keep working on the tempo to it; the verses are noticeably faster, but at least a part of that was due to nerves. Thanks for stopping by and listening. 🙂

Nicely done David. The finger-picking was smooth and solid. Great job!

David, I heard this that night on the VOM & listening to it again I’m still blown away with your performance. If that is the work in progress, your polished version is going to be stupendous!👏👏👏

This is excellent. Perfect finger picking of a difficult piece
