Hi Milt, Thanks for your comment. I’d like to clarify something that you mentioned which I hope is not a common misconception among our audience. The VOMs are not going away and TAC isn’t doing away with them. The VOMs were member-initiated and was run independently from TAC so the VOMs were never really TAC’s to do away with. As we should be able to tell, TAC is becoming more focused in individual guitar journeys, and the new forum format reflects that. The VOM news that we were posting in the old forum doesn’t quite fit in with the new forum format and that’s why we started all of our blogs. Levi and I have been conversing the past two months and he informed me courteously of the direction that TAC was heading. Thus, I researched new communication options and I introduced the blog format to all of our VOMs.

The new blogging platform provides a few features that the TAC platform can’t offer. Number one is that all of the VOM participants can subscribe to the blogs of their choices to get updates via email for that VOM, for example theme news, new Zoom links, and just VOM news in general will arrive in you email Inbox. We’ve tried to structure each of the VOMs as if our participants were going to a different venue each time they logged in, and thus, each venue may have a variety of different news and information, and incidentally, their own “house operations”. We’re essentially simulating the real world, but instead of you going to various venues, various venues are coming to you.

Considering that each “venue” has different ways of doing things, the Friday Night VOM does not need participant email addresses (at least not at this time, but other VOMs may request it). Instead, for FNL, you can follow or subscribe to the FNL VOM blog and get updates via email, or you can simply navigate to the FNL blog to find out the latest news and Zoom links to our next VOM. The other VOMs may request you for your email address so check with them if that is the case. As for getting all of the FNL performers their links to their recordings, we will continue to use the TAC messaging system and we are using the pinned post in the Play for Us forum as a directory of sorts to find performer profiles to send messages. Again, speaking for FNL, we are actively discussing how we can do recordings differently, so stay tuned for that news which should be announced soon.

Lastly, I’ll say that the VOMs will continue to happen as long as there is demand and so far, we are seeing plenty of demand, so fret not (pun intended).

Sorry for being wordy in my reply, but hopefully I’ve answered your questions. Thanks.
