1.) How many days per week do you play?

I play 7 days week, I take my guitar to work and play during my lunch break(30 min) so no matter what happens I have at the very least played for 30 min. When I get home in the morning I do finger, arm, hand, wrist, arm and neck stretching( just a few seconds on each to loosing every thing up) during the night I use a finger stretcher(in pics) Then I do my daily challenge, 10 to 30 min. then throughout the week on different days I practice string skipping, scales, hammer on, pull offs, modes, hand synchronization, theory, finger picking. I also like to listen to the radio and find the key of the song (any genre) and then noodle around the scales and different positions of those scales, it helps learn the different positions and how to solo in between them and it’s also fun lol, and of course songs.

2.) What time of day do you play?

at work its whenever I get to my destination (I’m a truck driver) so it’s about 1130 to midnight, but when I get home its about 600-700 am and I play till about 800 or 830 am. On Saturday’s I get off around 530 and because I work nights when I get home I don’t feel like driving anywhere so before I go home I go to Costco and play guitar from 6am to 930 am when they open, that is where I can practice the song I will be doing for VOM or other skills and just noodle around and try to be creative.

    3.) Where do you play?

I play in my room at my desk, I also play in the truck at work, and in my personal truck, sometimes if I have time before work I will play a little in the office.

4.) What was your guitar life like before having a guitar routine & how has implementing a consistent guitar routine helped you? (if possible name 3 ways).

I always felt that when I would play (at the time) I would practice the same few songs and always thinking is this it. I wish I could learn more than just these couple of songs.

By not being consistent and having a goal and plan I would get bored and loose interest. For me I had to make it fun and not let it seem like a chore.

I have just started to bring my guitar to work in the last couple of months and in that time things are getting easier(most days) lol when it comes to learning songs, and all around techniques, my confidence is growing. I look forward to every time I pick up my guitar.

5.) Bonus Question: What is one non-guitar item that is a must have in your guitar routine?

Well this one my be a little strange to some, but when I’m playing in my room I love and have my fan in my face. I don’t know what it is maybe it’s all the concerts I have been to, they have a fan blowing on them and they look so cool. (I’m weird)
