hi Bspada! Thanks for the lovely remarks! In January I will hit the 4 year mark for playing so I’ve certainly logged a lot of string time. And as you progress you may find your self getting more interested in recording like I did. Fair warning, for those newer to recording, it can be a bit daunting at first learning about all the different gear and setup, etc.

This recording is a video capture from Zoom from a few weeks back, so the quality in real life is better than what is represented here, due to bandwidth optimization reasons, Zoom compresses everything when it sends and receives audio/video.

The video itself is being captured by an iMac, and for lighting I have an umbrella light reflector, they’re cheap and can be found online. Please never mind the messy room, it’s a work in progress 🙂

The audio rig probably sounds complicated, especially if you’re new to recording, but it just takes some practice to figure it out, and an investment.

All the sound is captured by a single Audio-Technica AT-2035 Condenser Mic –> running into a Universal Audio Apollo x6 (UAD Apollo x6) –> Inside the Apollo I run a Neve 1084 Mic Preamp plugin (adds a slight edge to the sound)–> from there the audio is routed into a Teletronix LA2A plugin (adds some light compression and keeps me from clipping) –> Dreamverb plugin (just a software reverb) –> straight into Zoom.

Good luck seeking your sound 😁
