  • Practice Speed

Posted by Geocraig on October 23, 2021 at 9:08 am

    Hi,

It might just be me, but I have just started and when watching the videos Tony says that the practice play will start slow and then increase up to play speed. For mr the speed stays the same even after watching the play along 5-6 times. How do I get the speed increases?

    Many thanks

    George

The old site used to have three different speeds but now there is a slider to make things go faster. My computer system kind of distorts the speed slider, so I usually just stick with what Tony is using to teach us with, and if I want to go faster I use a metronome.

Paitience and practise. It May take one person 5 or 6 times and another person 12 or 23,don’t get frustrated or give up.With me if I just keep at it I’m better than I was and at the end of the day that’s all that matters.Just my opinion, have a good day.

Thank you both, I will have a look for the slider, but it’s not obvious on my tablet. Great idea about using a metronome to increase speed, I have been avoiding the metronome and need to bite the bullet and use it.

Hi @Geocraig , I highly encourage you to get cozy with a metronome. I have never heard anyone say “His timing is just too good” but I have heard “Gotta work on your timing.”

In the mean time, I think your question relates to how to get the video to play faster? When I view the lesson video and move my cursor to the bottom of the video it brings up a bar: on the right hand side there is a gear wheel and next to that it says 1x. When I click on 1x it lets me either slow down the video by .5 , .75 or speed it up in multiples up to 2.0 times faster. Lemme know if that is what you where looking for.

Thanks for asking this @Geocraig. I saw the speed slider but was confused by Tony’s in-video description.
