Who Woulda Thunk It (Greg Brown) from FNL VOM
Posted by Kitman on June 4, 2022 at 4:26 pmHi all,
I played this song in the Friday Night Live VOM. The first couple seconds of the audio didn’t make the recording… but the rest did. My thanks to the FNL group and artists that shared their talent, guitar playing, singing, songwriting, encouragement and fellowship.

Very nice kitman. I see you are a fan of “story telling” tunes. You seem so comfortable with the flat pick too. Someday I hope to add that easy laid back flatpicking to my toolbox. Very nice

Thank you @Mrfredsporty , I am drawn to the story telling singer / songwriter songs. They evoke great imagery. I also greatly appreciate your input and feedback!
Improving my flat picking is part of my current 90 day goals. I found the The 30 Days to Play course had so very good foundational content on flat picking. Also there is a Flat Picking Jump Start series in the skills course that is great. Finally the daily challenges are filled with great practice for flat picking. I go back to these all the time and start practicing at very slow speeds and little by slow nudging it up. Routine, short sessions and continuous playing! 😀

Good ideas and tips, KM.Thanks. Although I’m brand new to flatpick I find already that when Tony demos runs I don’t even think about it a a lot. All the “chicka chicka stuff is much harder for me. But that’s ok

That was awesome! I don’t know that song, but I do like the story teller style of songwriting, too (big fan of John Prine). Folks like you in the TAC family are a huge inspiration to guys like me who are coming from several years of “dabbling” and finding Tony’s system to be a game changer!

Thank you very much for your kind words and encouragement, @GerryB56 . They are greatly appreciated. John Prine is a favorite of mine as well. If you would like to hear Greg Brown I would suggest the album “If I Had Known: Essential Recordings 1980 to 1996 (Disc 1). I am unable to find a “Disc 2”, not sure why? 🙃
