Hi @1967kerbygmail-com and welcome to TAC. As the folks said so well already, the TAC challenges focuse on the guitar fundaments such as technique, licks, improvisation, rhythm and chord transitions. These may be used across many playing situations and also with the songs we might be learning.

The consistent advice I see regarding the challenges is to spend at least 10 minutes on them. If one of them grabs ahold of you and you want to practice that for more time – great! If you need to slow the metronome down when learning or practicing the challenges – do it and don’t feel badly! The key to the challenges is not perfection. The key is that you have spend at least ten minutes on them – consistency and repetitions. There is a method to the way the challenges are arranged from week to week. The knowledge and skill will soak into your brain and muscle memory over time. Once you have at least 10 min on each challenge you may mark or complete. I would encourage you to leave some comments regarding your experience with the challenge. Just a few lines on how it went for you. If you read the comments left by our fellow TACers you will find they range pretty widely based on the person involved and where they are on their guitar journey.

Regarding songs: the skills courses although focused on a particular guitar skill typically conclude with a song we learn to apply the skills. There is also an archive of songs lessons that had been part of TAC in the past, you can find those at this link: https://app.searchie.io/hub/254V7grV3m/

Also, YouTube is filled with videos in which people teaching songs. Or, you can grab tabs and / or chord sheets for songs from somewhere like “Ultimate Guitar Tabs” on the net. There are others out there too.

Hope this was helpful to you. Trust in the TAC system and you will be surprised at the progress you are making. Above all have fun and enjoy your guitar journey! 😃
