  • Like a snowball in . . .

Just played a “gig” in a long-term care facility at the request of a hospice I volunteer for. Sort of background music while 16 residents and staff participated in activities related to a “snow” theme. Actually turned out kind of wild as they had a snowball (made of soft cloth) fight as I played and sang Winter Wonderland, Let It Snow, Frosty The Snowman, etc. “Snowballs” wizzing by all over the room!

Eventually, that rowdy crowd settled down as I played a few songs as Circle, Cat’s in the Cradle, Slip Sliding Away – which were well received and, I believe, the lyrics have life experience meaning for us older folks.

Glad I did it. A win!

Congrats on a great win! Nice that your crowd settled down and listened to the latter part of your performance. I just recently played for the first time in front of a small group, and though I don’t feel quite ready for “primetime” yet, it was good to have the experience.

Know that feeling too @GerryB56 – I think that their not focusing on me at first allowed me to warm up – took care of the initial jitters.
