  Jamming

  I’ve been fighting with palm muting all week. I sat down today and gave it 10 focused minutes with today’s challenge… and it’s getting better.

  Then after I hit complete I picked up a pick and played a song I’ve been working on learning.

  And then the small win happened. I was done with my focused agenda – and just started playing.

  I started out with some open chords and wound up jamming through power chords with (get this) palm muting with accents on the1 with 8th note counting.

  It felt awesome and sounded like an 80’s garage band!

  Technique worked. Moving around the fretboard worked. Timing worked.

  It was just silly, crazy, amazing improv fun.

  This is exactly why I’m playing guitar.

  So happy for you! I have struggled with palm muting too. It feels really good when you get it. Congrats.
