    Hello TAC family.

After watching last Tuesdays show, I can’t get the awesome sound of that steel body Mule Resonator out of my head!!!! LOL!!! I went to the website and wow maybe some day?? My question is?? What are some low end res that you would recommend for a starter? Even though right now the Mule is out of my budget, I really would love to own a Resonator. My budget is around 500.00 to maybe 700.00 if I really fall in love with one.

    TIA!

    Rodney!

I would swear Tony did that topic for acoustic Tuesday show a year or two ago. I don’t remember what the answer was but I would go through the old shows and see if you can find it

I have a Mule, save up it’s worth it. Plus an investment and an heirloom.

    Thanks Guy and Hall.

I planned on starting a long term savings plan for that beautiful Mule 😍 But for now I would like to get one for a starter. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Guitar Center has a few but I need to to research and review.

I had a Gretsch G9200 Boxcar, which is a quality Reso for about $400 USD.Laminated Mahogany and good build quality, played and sounded great for being entry level.

I sold it about a year ago.I agree, the Mule guitars are awesome.Just have to save some more also 🙂

You are welcome, that is a good guitar at that price point. Elderly Instruments would be my choice to get one,it will be set up right and play well out of the box.

That is very important with this lower line gear especially.

I too drool over the Mules but need a lot more play money for those. I did snag a used Republic Highway 61 “antique copper” resonator today that I am very excited about.

Rodney, there are definite resonator guitars to be had in the under $700 price range.

I have no personal experience with any of these specifically; but I’ve felt Recording King was a pretty solid guitar company.
