Those Mother Years
Posted by TMutter on November 5, 2023 at 3:23 pm<div>I have written several songs about my Dad but had yet to write a song about my Mom and it always kind of bothered me. Yesterday on a walk I got a “download” and this came out. Still needs a little work – but today is Moms Birthday so here it is. She would have been 85. I still carry her with me everyday.

Great job man. You brought a smile to my face and a tear in my eye. Keep it up.

@drpatrickryangmail-com thanks – it took me a few attempts to get through it. Like Willie says “Its not somethin’ you get over, But it’s somethin’ you get through”

My Mom passed a year ago for me and I appreciate your sentiment in this song. Nice epiphany for a walk. Good job.

Heart felt @TMutter lost my mother last year had to play and sing at the funeral very hard to do. Nice original song thanks for sharing it.

@KevinZ I think you posted the song you sang right ? Thats a beautiful tribute. I dont think I could have done that and I am sure you will treasure that moment and gift to your mom and others for all time.

@TMutter when I was asked to do music for the service. I Struggled with saying no. And many started sending me suggestions of new songs once I said yes. I knew the people that were older would not relate to the newer tribute songs. So I modified a Marty Robbins song and Conway Twitty song and did them. Yes I posted the songs to share in the hope others could relate like yours did for me. Yours and the songs I did helped me vent and when a song does that for you it is a good thing.

Blew me away Terry…beautiful song and great playing…you are very talented and inspiring. Sorry about your Mom but obvious you had a beautiful bond with her. My own mother and I had a very complicated relationship but were able to come to terms just before she died a few years back which im grateful for. Likewise for your song…brought out a lot of emotions…sad but good. thanks man…keep em coming

@Braden thank you so much for the kind words. I feel like this song broke through a box I didnt want to open. I played it in public for the first time last night at an open mic and the response was touching with applause combined with tears. The song means a lot to me and that it means something to others is a wonderful thing as well.
