Nailed the dreaded F!
I’ve always had a problem with barre chords, especially the full F – nowhere near getting it. Yesterday I took a break from TAC and was watching an aviation video on YT; I noticed a Justin Guitar video in the sidebar, on the F-chord.
He suggested trying to place the first finger higher across the fret, sticking quite a bit above the neck (a good half inch in my case) – and I got a clean F first try and no brute force involved, it was relaxed. It makes sense, because I noticed for the first time that there is no bone at the side of the finger high up – it’s fleshy. The bone actually starts halfway between the first joint and the tip.
Anyway, I am doing clean barre chords for the first time ever. So no small win!
