  • F and B Barre chords – Aarrgghh

Posted by BarbaraM on April 8, 2024 at 12:24 pm

OK I admit I’ve only been a couple of days on those two chord lessons (“Your Next Six Chords” in the Skills section), but it seems to me to be a reason that most if not all of the major guitar pros are tall, with long bones (read: fingers). I realize I will limit myself if I don’t play F and B chords, but I don’t see how I can do them. I have hand strength (I use a grip exerciser), but I have stubby fingers and one has arthritis so it won’t bend all the way. I can’t even move it into position with my other hand. Even the mini F I have to curl my fingers so they lay almost on the nail.

Are there any other workarounds for these? And how to make a minor chord that can be played (I have Fretboard Wizard, so I know the theory)?
