  • Where is “Lead Domino Song?

Posted by eyeclinic on June 3, 2024 at 5:40 am

Allow me to embarrass myself here. I’ve been doing TAC for 2 months now and I received my Monday Momentum email today. It says that by weeks end I should be able to play “Wagon Wheel”. Where is WW located? Is it the 5 day challenge? Last month it was “Ain’t No Sunshine” but I never saw it to learn how to play it. What am I doing wrong? I looked at the TAC starter guide again for the fifth time, and I see the reference to the Lead Domino song, but when and where is it?

Not sure about the lead domino reference, but you won’t find the whole sing and a staff or tab sheet. The pieces of the benchmark challenge is buried in the week’s challenge through the technique, lick, improv and scale, chord rhythm progression and chord transition. Those pieces will apply directly to Wagon Wheel but to get the lyrics you’ll have to go to Guitar Tabs app or elsewhere. The progression (which is G, D, Em, C or 1,5,6m,4) you can take and apply to lots of songs besides Wagon Wheel. So by learning the song through the 5 pieces you cannot not only put the benchmark song together but others. Also I’ve noticed the benchmark songs can be played on layered levels so that beginners to advanced players can have success and challenge. But you aren’t embarrassing yourself at all. It is a paradigm shift from traditional learning approaches and has worked great for me.

@rbrenz001charter-net – I search online for the various songs Tony utilizes with the Daily Challenges for the lyrics and tablature sheets to download. Various websites offer them. I believe copyright laws come into play so that is the reason TAC doesn’t publish songs like Hotel California, Wagon Wheel, Ain’t No Sunshine, etc. referenced for benchmark weeks. Keep on playing!

Thanks guys. I really felt like I was missing something, like a button or page I was supposed to go to. None of my various guitar-playing friends had ever heard of Wagon Wheel so I didn’t know what it was supposed to sound like, since I had never heard of it either. Maybe we could convince Tony to start the week by playing his versions of the songs that the 5-day challenges reinforce. OK…back to work!(fun)
