Welcome to TAC, I’m fairly new also having joined July 3rd, 1 day before may 65th birthday. I’ve never had a private lesson but I tried 2 other online programs before and while they weren’t worthless, they weren’t sustainable because I lost interest and didn’t play consistently. The key is not to get lost on perfection, keep going.
I think students (and many teachers) tend to have you work a skill to death. After weeks of practice you may have learned that one skill but you’re still not a guitar player and you begin losing your joy in playing.
Don’t be discouraged if you can’t do everything that is presented in the challenges. This is normal and you will do better the next time it comes around.
