  Knuckles locking when playing G Chord

  Playing guitar for a bit so a G chord is not new, but I did notice today that I lock the bottom knuckles on my Ring and Pinky fingers when I play the G chord. Whats interesting is when I play a D Chord I do not lock those same fingers, so it has something to do with the stretch of the first two fingers causing my ring and pinky to raise up, and then to push down the strings they kind of lock backwards (see picture).

  This does not prevent me from playing the G chord, but I wonder if this should somehow be corrected?
