Your fingers will start to loosen up throughout time. I had the same issue last year. Especially now when I’m learning new chords.
Here’s what I try to do as much as possible.
* finger, hands, forearms exercise and stretch. Tony has a video about this.
* On Wednesdays, when you’re working on scales try to keep them puppy’s separated while playing scales.
* Even though it’s tough try to use your pinky more often. There’s several pinky challenges here on TAC don’t skip them! It took me forever to separate my two love birds. LOL! Ring and pinky. I think there’s a video also for finger stretching.
* Last and most important, trust the process, if you work on it every challenge it will happen in time. January was year 2 for me, my fingers are getting better but I continue to work on them every challenge especially my dinky pinky.
P.S.
If your also talking about being able to form chords properly. Tony has a speed drill on video about this.
1. Place fretting hand on lap.
2. Count backwards from 5,4,3,2,1
3. On 5 raise fret hand to form chord. On 1 strum down once then single picking EADGBE to check for a clean chord.
Good luck!
