    Summertime Blues was originally done in the 50’s by Eddie Cochran. It has been done by many others, including the Blue Cheer version (my favorite), of 1968 where it went to number 14; and the Who on Live At Leeds. I used some of the intro style of the Blue Cheer version; the chord pattern more closely from the 50’s version (with some adjustments); and just winged it through two verses. This one was just for fun and nostalgia.

    I’m amazed there’s someone else who knows about Blue Cheer! I still have that blue and silver cover LP. Agree with you @Philb that their version as a personal favorite. Yours rocks hard too!

    @Braden @Tricia_Lynn @KevinZ @Guitargeezer-Jack @petelanger
    Thank you all for listening; and I hope you enjoyed it in whatever way you could.
    @Guitargeezer-Jack I do remember that album as I had it also. It was heavy before there was heavy metal. Blue Cheer had the wall of sound and feedback. Did you see them on American Bandstand when that was a hit? It was great since they were not the usual type of band that played on it. Long ago and far away. LOL

      @Philb I do recall BC on American Bandstand. I knew about the band early through a friend of mine who worked at a progressive rock FM station in the 60’s. He would give me DJ promo vinyl records so I was exposed to many bands unfamiliar to the masses. Ever hear of a group called Aorta? I still have a number of unusual but worth a listen albums. I’ll have spin a few.

    This song captures that frustration that every 17 year old knows that didn’t grow up as a trust baby. I smiled through every measure recalling the feeling of those Summertime Blues. Thanks for sharing.
