2nd Bench Mark go round at Old Man
This is my 2nd attempt at Old Man. First attempt was back in December after my 2nd week of being signed up with TAC. This time around I tried to incorporate some of the hammer-ons. Next go around I hope to be able to sing a little bit of the song while playing. https://youtu.be/LuRk73TFj4U

than you Pete. Started with TAC 120 or so lessons ago… this past December. But I have been trying to learn some guitar for a good year now. Really feel I have made some progress with TAC. Take Care andf hope you are also making gains

Thanks Ron! This is session 270 for me. I have made a lot of progress since joining TAC, but parts of this song give me fits! First time through I really didn’t get past Wednesday. This was my third time and I have played my way through all the challenges but it’s pretty painful to listen to quite honestly. I recorded the Thursday play through but I’m not wanting to post it. I didn’t record Friday’s session as I was mainly focusing on the middle finger hammer into the D chord which had been mostly inaudible going back to last August. I figured out that I wasn’t strumming the low E properly so there wasn’t much ring to it.
I started my guitar journey last March from scratch, having never played aside from just poking around on my sister’s guitar in my teens with no direction whatsoever. Sounds like we’re in about the same place. I joined TAC on July 3rd last year, a day before turning 65.

Well hoping the next time through I can sing a-long to the tune. I retired this past July from being a firefighter for 37years. Riding and racing my bicycle and this new guitar passion fill my days out pretty good. I have only been recording the thursday or friday TAB’s of the bench mark weeks. Figure that is enough for me.

This song is kinda tough. The chords are basic put the picking part and the timing… woowee…

thank you… i still find that landing on the correct base string to be a challenge to hit consistently.
