  • Big “Small Win” for me!

Posted by rdsgossamerwingsyahoo-com on April 21, 2025 at 6:33 pm

OK, so I’m coming up on the conclusion of my “30-Day Challenge”! I haven’t posted small wins due to time constraints, but today I put in four afternoon hours after stretching ala “Dr. Tony’s” prescribed exercises. Despite only one partial callous on my ring finger, I was able to consistently nail the C# chord with my small fingers today despite very sore finger tips. But, did I stop there? I broke open my John Denver Anthology songbook of 100 songs, picking and singing my way through Grandma’s Feather Bed! I even tried strumming which amazed me. I will eventually post a video of my playing this song. Best yet, another small win was finding out a lifetime friend has a 6-string, but gave up trying to play 40 years ago. I directed him to restring his guitar, purchase Tony’s program, and join me on this journey.

Those are some big wins! It’s great to have a friend that you can grow with too, very helpful! Congrats!

Thank you! Despite painful finger tips, I just grabbed my Taylor and hit the C major on my first attempt just passing by the living room. That’s progress!

I haven’t heard grandma’s feather bed in too long, I should look it up! Look at you go with the music win win

Thank you! My sister got me hooked on John Denver as a teenager. Lifelong dream of playing guitar and Tony is making it happen! Actually, and it will be very rudimentary, I will probably submit a video of me singing and playing “Grandma” as my first effort.

Thank you! My marathon two days ago produced painful finger tips but forced me to use my finger tips for chords. Yesterday, I only had a few minutes and in passing by guitar on its stand, I practiced the chords I’ve learned–and C major was the first and I nailed it!
