New Here — Sharing a Personal Win
Hey everyone! I’m new to the community and recently decided to pick up the guitar again after several years away from it. Before that, I was more of a chronic dabbler than a consistent player.
What brought me back? My 5-year-old son.
He saw my guitar hanging on the wall in my home office and started begging to play it. After enough pleading, I gave in and taught him a few open chords on my Telecaster — which, of course, turned out to be way too big for him. So I picked up a Loog guitar for him, and he hasn’t put it down since!
His excitement totally reignited my own passion for playing.
I discovered TAC and recently completed the “30 Days to Play” to shake off the rust. Refocusing on the basics — and committing to just play instead of waiting to “get good” — has made a huge difference.
Tonight, I hit a milestone:
For the first time ever, I was able to sing and play at the same time! I played “Last Kiss” by Pearl Jam. No Grammy awards are headed my way (and my wife says if I play it one more time, I’m getting kicked outside — lol), but for me, it’s a big win.
Looking forward to more progress and sharing the journey with all of you!
