  • “A Song Of Good Hope” for the new year !

Posted by TMutter on January 1, 2026 at 10:48 am

Well one of my Christmas wishes came true as Natalie and I found time to sing together a few times and even got a few on video.
This cover has become a favorite of ours and is a great message for the new year. “Song Of Good Hope” is by Glen Hansard who you might remember from the movie “Once”. I am about 90 days from the accident that resulted in a broken shoulder and recovery continues. I am able to play a few songs in a row before it is too painful and I have to take the pressure off my arm but it is coming along. “hope” springs eternal and hard work paves the path!

thanks @petelanger , @Philb , @DPC71 for having a listen. If someone told me at the beginning of my guitar journey that after years of hard work and time learning the guitar it would lead to just one moment like this I would say it is worth it!

So pretty, I love it! You look like you really enjoy playing. I can’t wait until I can play like that. That was wonderful to see and listen to. Thank you for sharing.

@Coreena Thanks for listening. I am sure you will be playing songs like this in no time. With this particular song I feel less is more. The more I play it, the less strumming I actually play, opting for space and let the lyrics shine through.

Very nice of Natalie to let you accompany her beautiful voice. Great selection and appropriate for the new season.

Albert – you are so right ! I only started singing in key when Natalie started singing!
