It’s great to be here, great to get involved and great to be enjoying a structured plan to my practice. I have never had a problem with motivation I love picking up my guitar and practising/playing and do every day. Just practice and play the same old. So I can play plenty of things and am comfortable with a lot of stuff. I am here to get structure to the practice and pick up tips I may have missed so will start at the start and enjoy it all.

    Welcome @gmcoates101

Getting started is a huge win! This is the best place to stick with it, TAC brings you the right lesson every day to keep you on track and progressing. Just do your best everyday for at least 10 minutes and you can’t help improving!

Nice! Sounds like we’re in the same boat. I love this method and can agree that it has gotten me away from fiddling around with the same old stuff and trying new things. Cheers!

Cheers guys, great to have a focus. I’m just going through the 30 days and week 1 is easy enough but I just plan to follow pick up any things I may have missed trying to learn myself and build a fun habit of a proper practice session everyday.

@gmcoates101 I just want to follow up with this:

Don’t worry about doing the entire “lesson” when you get to the Daily Challenges! Some days are gonna be HARD!! 30 Days to Play is the warm up phase, depending on which week you start in, it could be a big jump. Just approach it with the mindset: “I’m gonna learn something today, even if most of the video is out of reach.” Do at least 10 minutes and mark it Complete! Even if you did a single measure or just strung together a few notes, if you played the challenge for 10 minutes you completed it!

This is so important! So many people will quit because they look at the entirety and it’s out of reach. It’s meant to be that way! Some people joining have been playing guitar for 50 years, and they still can get something out of it!!

AAAAAND: even if it’s not working at all, nothing but struggle, you are still learning! It will get better next time. Next time might be a week from now or a month from now when the same skill is taught. Then the challenges themselves repeat every so often. It all goes in cycles.

I will keep all of that in mind @petelanger . So easy to get bogged down with keeping everything just so. I now have two sources for lessons, got rid of everything else, got rid of books, don’t subscribe to anything in YouTube as that’s a rabbit hole of doom. I am sticking to a 10-15 minutes session from my 2 sources every day. I will then practice those items after the session but the next day is for the next session.
