ll of the easy chord transitions you can make out of the 4 string F chord shape
On another discussion we were talking about how to learn to make a good F Barre chord.
I us the F 4 string Barre chord all of the time and do Walk that shape down 2 frets to the G 4 string Barre chord and 4 frets to the A barre chord .
In the Key of C or A minor, If you make a good 4 string barre chord you can easily add the D m, B flat major 7 and the A minor chords from from that starting 4 string F barre chord.
F chord – Index finger across the E/1 and B/1 frets, middle finger on the G/2 fret and the ring finger on the D/3 fret.
To make the D minor chord – release ring finger and place the pinkie on B/3 fret.
to make the B flat major 7 chord – place fingers on B/3, G/2 and D/3. That is a partial B flat minor chord and great chord shape to use as a transition chord to the the A minor chord.
A minor B/1, G/2 and D/2 strum then release the G/2 string to create a A minor 7 and a C major chord.
When I release the G/2 fretted string I move that ring finger up to the A/3 “C” note. for a fuller Chord tone.
You can extend this whole routine to include the E minor, fretted A/2 and D/2, and the G chord shape of your choosing.
Mix and match all of these chord shapes and then move it down 2 frets where you can make the first 4 chord shapes easily in the Key of D/B minor.
