  • Chording speed using 30 Days To Play

Posted by PeterBStevenson on March 11, 2026 at 10:08 pm

I’m unable to access the 3 second and 1 second speed versions of the chord videos in 30 Days To Play. It just repeats the 5 second speed videos. Tony keeps talking about how the speeds will increase. Are we just supposed to do this manually using the playback speed feature?

I had the same question. Looking forward to getting a response back on this one.

Yes, you change the speed in the playback video. Unfortunately he never recorded different speeds and this fools a lot of people, I had the same thought when I started here. But believe me, this is a small issue (compared to how great TAC is in general) and after a few weeks you won’t ever think about it again until somebody joins and and asks the question.

Thanks for the info! Next question. I noticed that when I increase the playback speed I hear a warbely distortion. Does anyone else hear this?

Yes this is normal. To vary the speed and maintain the pitch, the encoder/decoder (CODEC) has to replay sampled audio multiple times to slow down the speed or remove chunks of audio to increase it. Very high quality CODECs can do this a bit better, but there is always going to be distortion (possibly a warble or choppy sound) because you’re not playing the original audio anymore. Analog recorders like tape would give you truer sound, but the pitch would be heavily altered.
