Completing 2 Years of TAC this week
Just cracked 2 Years in TAC and today marks my 703rd day played. I say days because “sessions” in your TAC stats only roll over once a day. Only the first session of the day gets recorded. I my case that would be a huge understatement. I’m sure that I average over 3 playing sessions per day so the math says something completely different. Not just 700 sessions but well over 2000, probably in the neighborhood of 2500
The biggest effect TAC has had is getting me to play every single day. No program does this equally well.
What has happened in 2 years:
- I know most of the common chords and can transition between them
- Breaking through rhythmically. Not that I’m a great rhythm player but my brain is starting to comprehend how to keep my hand moving up and down and contacting the strings at appropriate times, instead of focusing on the strumming pattern. This is a big paradigm shift that’s not easy to make since the teaching all too often is the pattern.
- Tamed the F mini
- Built a Website for Past TA Challenge access: https://tac.bluesy.top/
- Trying to learn the fretboard using various tools and drills
- I’ve been to 3 local guitar jam sessions, joining players with upwards of 10 years experience. Functioning way outside of my comfort zone, pushing myself for 2 1/2 hour sessions where we play and sing various popular songs.
- Started working on a lot more songs, I haven’t mastered any yet but have been working on several and I’m slowly improving them

Thanks, I started the day before my birthday on the 3rd, yesterday had my daughters and 6 of my grand children at the house celebrating along with extended family. It was quite an event!
