Is it cheating if you play this vertically using the High E, B and D strings rather than more hiroxontally on the B string? I just find it much easiet to play it cleanly at tempo when working out of the first position. Is this intended as an exercise to develop position shifts and horizontal scale recognition, or is our goal just to learn to play the song cleanly so that we might be able to join in a jam. If the latter, I’d prefer further developing the movement that comes more naturally, but I can see value in either approach.
