DI pedals are one of the more essential pedals for acoustic guitarists. A DI pedal allow you to capture the sound of your guitar and allow it to be processed on a soundboard. This allows a sound engineer or AV tech to change the balance on your guitar.
If you ever plan on playing live or playing through a PA, you’ll really need a DI. Because you can’t just plug your guitar straight into a soundboard, the DI allows your guitar to be processed through a soundboard.

Tony, this episode was the push I needed. I’d been playing open mics for about a year plugging straight into whatever the venue had available, and the sound was always a coin flip. Watched this back when it came out and ended up going with the LR Baggs Para DI based on your demo — the EQ control sold me because every coffee shop I play has completely different room acoustics.
Fast forward to now and I honestly can’t believe I waited so long. The difference is night and day. I played a small winery gig last month and for the first time I actually felt like I sounded like me through the PA instead of some thin, harsh version of my guitar.
