Hi @Carnelia , here is what I did to practice flat picking and cross picking:
1. Put the cross picking challenges on a check list and repeated them throughout the 90 days as warm up. Some of them were very challenging to me so I slowed them way down and using a metronome inched the BPMs up little by little. Always dropped back to slower BOMs of my note quality and accuracy suffered
2. Completed and referenced frequently the “Flatpicking Jumpstart” and “Cross Picking 5 Day Challenge” skills courses
3. Used the treasure trove of Flatpicking instructional videos in the TAC song Vault and selected some targeted songs to learn. Here is the link for the vault: https://app.searchie.io/hub/254V7grV3m/
4. Utilized a YouTube site to proactive the songs. This site has tons of bluegrass songs at different speeds that may be used for practice – all for free! For example they have “Billy In The Low Ground” at 80, 90, 100, 110 and ,120 BPMs. I found most all of the TAC song vault Flatpicking songs there. Hope you find this is helpful!
