This is my second time through and it’s a bit a struggle still for me.
Monday’s challenge: not pleased with how much I struggled with making clean modified chords. On the D chord I’ve got mutes all over the place as I go through the modifications. The C actually went better, I think the last time my C was worse. G chord was not doable with the pinky on the high E, substituted the ring finger and that worked but doesn’t allow for the modifications in the exercise. F is still pretty much a cluster; the win for today was that I can actually sound an unmodified F mini every now and then, but doing mods and coming back to F-mini is a no go.
Tuesday’s challenge: I’m working on sliding from the NY chord down to the D major. It’s getting better but I’m still not up to speed on it. I am only doing version 1 (starts with base note) completely, but experimenting with version 2 (hammers). I can do the first hammer ok but the second hammer to form the D-chord is completely impossible for me. That ring finger just doesn’t come down with enough velocity while I’m holding the other 2 fingers in their respective positions for the D shape = no hammer effect.
Wednesday’s challenge: This is a lot of scales to learn. I’ve got the D-major under my fingers but I’m not finding it enticing to keep plugging through the rest of the scales after already spending close to 30 minutes on the first one.
