  • 30 Days to play – question

Hi, I’m in Week 4, <b style=”font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; color: var(–bb-body-text-color);”>Follow These Steps To Your First Guitar Solo, and I’m a wee bit confused. In the lesson Tony is playing over what sounds like a regular (gentle) backing track, but after the lesson when I play the backing track link I’m getting a strong blues bassline that I’m finding impossible to play along with – even with the volume right down on the PC the “backing track” is too dominant and conflicts with the scale I’m trying to play. Or am I missing a trick here? Cheers.

I’m not sure I understand the issue. The backing track that is included with the lesson is the same backing track that Tony plays in the video when he demos playing the scale over the backing track.

Is the issue that it is too loud, or that the notes don’t work with it?

It’s a bit of both Craig, and I think it’s because the bass on the track
sounds over dominant to me, in comparison with how it sounds when Tony
plays it. You’re right, it is the same; I’ll play with my audio settings
and see if I can boost the high end and drop the low.
