Beginning 30 day confusion
Posted by Kristie B on January 2, 2026 at 4:33 pmI just started the 30 days to play and I’m about a week in, but got a message saying my Guitar Challenge Day 1 starts today. I can’t do both things simultaneously. Is there a way for me to start the challenge after I’m done with 30 days to play?

I just finished the 30 day initial learn to play and saw the same challenge pop up. I just ignored it and continued on with the 7 learn to play lessons

Yeah it is a little confusing. If you are just starting to play guitar, I would recommend finishing the “30 days…,” followed by the “5 day routine” which gives you everything you need to start the daily challenges.
Have fun!

Thanks for getting back to me. I’ve just finished the five days to play and I’m ready to start with the daily challenges. But, I’m worried that I’m behind now? Is it sequential, so I need to start at a certain place? Or are the challenges universal for everyone, every day?

They “start” on Mondays but I wouldn’t worry about starting on another day of the week. Since the weekends are free, you could work on one of the “skill courses” over the weekend until Monday.
Have fun!!

That seems a bit strange that the daily challenges “popped up”, are you talking about in your email? I don’t recall getting invited to jump into challenges before I completed my first 30 Day and 5-Day material. Perhaps there was a glitch.
No worries, you were right to ignore those and start the Dailies after the Intro stuff. -
Yes, Ive been quite confused too. I started with the free trial week, but after learning the first lesson, I joined the 30 day course. Then the 5 days of trial lessons ended and while the 30 day program continued I started getting daily challenges. I’m not sure how it all works, but for now I’m just doing the 30 day program. There is too much “noise” in the program with all the parts and emails and extras. There needs to be an explanation on how to navigate this program.

It’s really all spelled out in the quick start guide on the home page:

It is confusing. I thought I saw a tab page for the Blues Shuffle, but can’t find it again. Anyone else see it?

Is this what you are looking for @mudville8gmail-com ?

I’m having problems with the website too. It’s very difficult to find where to go and to get it to activate. The website also seems to be very slow to load anything. Can anyone tell me where my ‘membership’ page is found and what it looks like? When I log in the only place I see the try to go is ‘my profile’ icon, and a page that gives me an option to ‘start challenge’ which then launches into what seemingly is the ‘play’ portion of a song and there is non ‘learn’ section of how or what to play it. Plus the progress statues seems to be based on my old subscription of 4 years ago which I gave up on. It has not reset to my brand new current subscription. Help anyone?

I am happy to help you. What device are you accessing with? Is it a PC, phone, tablet? This makes a difference in what you might be seeing.
And yes, the sluggishness affects everything, it can really confuse you if you click and nothing happens. I’m hoping that this will be corrected soon.

Hello Kristie. Thank you for your reply. I am on a Mac, I have two different macs and they both have the same problem with the website. I have not been logging out of the website each time. I’m going to try logging off each time and then back in and see what that does to help my problems. But it just does not seem to take me to a page where I have choices of where I want to go or which lesson I want. Plus the page it keeps taking me too starts out without giving me the ‘learn’ portion of the song. It just goes straight to the wanting me to play along.

I rarely log out of the site. After a couple of weeks you will be logged out by the system and have to log back in. Sometimes it’s not that obvious, everything stops working but nowadays with the slow response that’s about normal. I’m going to go over your description as I come onto the site and I’ll see if I can interpret your issue.

@HB_rhr I am trying to recreate your situation on my laptop. Unfortunately things have been even more slow than earlier today. Navigating around trying to set up different scenarios has been nightmarish. Also I was baking bread this afternoon and also helping my wife prepare dinner so I’m just now getting back to it.
On the Home page you have the option to start the latest daily challenge. When I click on the that button today (Sunday Jan 4th, 2026) it takes me to the challenge of Friday Jan 2nd. It’s defaulting to the Learn video tab, when I click the play triangle it plays the LEARN video for me. If I click over to the PLAY tab. This all appears normal to me, albeit very slow loading screens and launching videos. These are the choices I would expect to see.
Now if I wanted to get the prior week I would go to the home page where there a section that says View Previous Challenges. There I can hit the back carrot (left arrow) and go back up to 6 weeks. Hit the right arrow to move forward in time. That’s about all the navigation you have within the challenges.
Other than Daily Challenge you have several categories you can launch from the task bar:
Fretboard Wizard (an add-on that costs extra)
5 Day Routine
Skill Courses
ForumsIf you can’t see all these things on your Mac, if it doesn’t look like the screen capture below, let me know!

I’m not on a mac and use Goggle Chrome without any of these problems. Listen to Pete as he can guide you through most entry problems.

Be sure to click on all of the different options located on the left hand side of the opening page. There is a skills section and 5 day start section and a Quick start guide that will answer most of your questions. For me the Skills section is my weekend guitar lessons that i go through over and over again.

I am taking a guess…..the page most of us intially land on shows a “Preview” of the Daily Challenge but does not let any interaction occur until the “Start Challenge” orange button is clicked.
