    Woo hoo, I have finely mastered the C-chord under my fingers. I could not even get my fingers into the right shape to make a sound, but now I can get the shape and sound. They are coming together. LOL, fat fingers unite lol

    LOL!

    I feel your pain, was absolutely there with you not long ago.

    “Fat fingers unite”….HaHa!! what was the movie where they referred to the organist as “mittens”?

    OK. So what was the magic revelation that made it all come together? My sausage finger tips have impressions in them from the strings but are over lapping the other strings making them mute. Are the finger tips not tough enough yet? Will they magically loose weight by practicing more? Beginner just trying to figure it out.

      @cubmastervaphoneman-com I’m just a beginner myself, but I would say sort’a!
      The fingers will toughen up and spread less but also you will learn to trap the string close to the fret wire and not have to press nearly as hard, your fingers will develop better form over time. I’ve been playing for over a year now and I still mute at times on some basic open chords but as you play transitions more and more this begins to happen less and less. I strongly recommend you move to transitioning rather than just forming the same chord over and over. Pick a chord sequence and just go through it regularly. I’ve been doing this with Hotel California for the past 6 months while internalizing the strum pattern at the same time.
