  • Changing Speeds

Posted by Michael_Fazackerley on December 9, 2025 at 8:40 am

    Hello everyone,

I’m new to TAC and in week 2 of the 30-day challenge.

I don’t seem to be understanding something fundamental about the change in speeds. Going through the chord exercises, Tony mentions going from 5 seconds to 3 seconds to 1 second. I don’t see this option.

Changing speeds using the gear icon lets you speed up, but then the sound is garbled and distorted.

    Help would be appreciated.

    Kind regards,

    Michael Fazackerley

I just posted this same question yesterday! No replies yet, but just wanted you to know that I’m also not finding where we get practice changing pace in Week 2’s exercises!

The way Tony describes it it’s a little misleading and many have not understood it, I was there once too. It’s quite simply the settings gear allows you to choose between 0.5x and 2x speed. Yeah, I know, it’s a little disappointing when you learn this.

It certainly is, because it warps the sound in keeping with how speeding up and slowing down a recording usually does so. My inquiry to customer service indicated that they didn’t do it this way before. I feel that players should advocate for returning to the previous system of recording individual play-throughs at different speeds. It is either that or a tool needs to be applied to the recording to fix the sound distortion.
