Completed 1st 7 Days of 30 Days to Play
New TAC student here, I started a day before my 65th birthday. I started another program (YourGuitarSage, Erich A.) in March this year and I stalled out right around when rhythm and strum techniques were introduced. I don’t think it was actually the strumming, as challenging as that was, but it was the boredom from not playing any songs!
I love how TAC teaches you useful bits from songs I loved growing up on day 1!
I’m celebrating completing my first 7 days in the program and it’s a double win because they were 7 consecutive days – playing joyfully every day. It hasn’t been easy, I had already lost the calluses on my left hand so my first few sessions were shorter than I would have liked. Another hurdle is learning tablature, the previous coach introduced a lot of notations but I had not yet seen this. As soon as I can actually play without looking at my hands all the time, I expect I’ll be able to know what to do by looking at the tablature.

Welcome to TAC Peter. Keep it up. I found over 3 years I improve over time by playing as life allows. Even just 10 minutes is worth it. Let us know how things are for you when you have completed the initial 30 days. Wishing you the best guitar life!

You’ll be surprised at how much fun you will have just doing your 10 minutes and not competing with others or your own expectations. The habit building TAC process definitely works if you just relax and let it. It has enhanced my retirement tremendously.

I just joined TAC a few days after my 60th Bday. I’m 4 days in and loving the 30 day challenge. Hammering is new to me so definitely need some work there, but being able to play the blues?! Crazy AND fun! I’ve always been a guitar dabbler. In just 4 days I suddenly feel like a guitar player. Looking forward to more.
