  • Day – 3 Find the Key (Fretboard Wizard)

Posted by Theedman22 on January 18, 2024 at 9:01 pm

    1) Tony is playing a song, sounds like chords, and we are to find the key in the song. I’m looking at the music sheet (attachment) and its all single notes. Am I supposed to go by those single notes? That’s not….TAB? It looks almost like a counting of numbers. Anyway, he’s playing …chords, not single notes.

    2) Someone on the page asks if there is any help on the pages when we have questions. Does anyone (from Tony’s assistants) chime in, in a lesson to answer questions? That would be VERY helpful. 🙂

Also, will my answer come here AND in my email?

He plays the chords, at the same time you play the single notes on the E string until you find a note that sounds good with all of the chords he is playing. That note is the key for the song (chords) he is playing.

Ohhh!… thank you. That does make sense. Thank you, Moose! (I didn’t realize that’s what those notes were for lol)

Hi Moose408, I am confused by this Day 3 also. I can read tab, but I don’t know when I am supposed to play a single note. It is with every chord that Tony is playing? Each downbeat? We’re not ending at the same time. I did figure out which key each Chord Progression is in just because of which notes worked and which were dissonant, but I’d like to get clear on the timing.
