Heard this song and had to learn it. Who’ll Buy My Memories by Willie Nelson. But fingerstyle is a process for me. I’d probably do better with flatpicking, but it’s not what I want to learn. So here is my short, slow and choppy version…a work in progress. Thanks for watching!

You are coming at it the right way. Take your time and get those fingers where they need to be. This was a new-to-me song so I also took time to listen to the original. Thanks for sharing it.

Thank you, @Alfred . I believe the only way to play this song is fingerstyle. Strumming would not honor the lyrics, I think.🙂 I’m too slow, and really need to practice much more…

No such thing as too slow… I had an unusual day, which I will post in wins, but my younger brother who is a worship leader and can play most anything he wants by ear cannot fingerpick a song. He gave me advice on musicianship, and I gave him advice on fingerpicking. Practice keeping time with your thumb, and… wait for it…
Take it slow, do it right not fast and sloppy, that’s the way to get there. You are doing the right thing. Play it as slow as you need to.
