    Hello TAC

Are there lessons on the topic of Finger Dexterity? I would like to improve …

    1. … my finger independence of the fretting hand

    2. … the synchronization of the left and right hand

    3. … the efficient playing

    4. … and minimizing the finger movements

Any kind of assistance will kindly be appreciated.

    Best greetings.

The honest truth is there is no replacement for experience over time and repetition. There are exercises but no short cuts. It mostly just improves slowly over the years. What feels impossible now will slowly become slightly less impossible until one you look back and realize your doing it

Greetings @CaptainFuture – You will find that many of the lessons incorporate these elements. You may not see a lesson titled with the topic but finger independence for example may be the focus of a daily lesson. Take todays lesson, I think it includes all four of your areas of improvement. You may want to “favourite” lessons that you find provide a focus for you in a desired area so you can continue to work on that.

    Hope this helps👍

I don’t think there is a better way to train this (and I am guilty of not spending enough time on it) Than running scales and doing the spider walk exercises. These directly build fret hand strength and dexterity AND build Fretting/Picking hand synchronization.

I just saw a thing where someone was playing scales in triplets with a pick… This, I think is an exercise I will adopt…

The open C and G scale exercises can be found under the flatpicking jumpstart lessons here https://tonypolecastro.com/courses/flatpicking-jumpstart/

That might be a good place to start.
