Freight Train finger picking jumpstart
Since I cannot do barre chords I decided to skip that lesson and redo the Finger Picking Jumpstart skill lesson. It’s all fine until the lessons with the index finger fretting the high e first fret while fretting the low E third fret with the ring finger. Quite a stretch! I know I’ll get it eventually as I can get it once in a while, but I don’t have the finger length to create a high enough arch to keep from muting other strings. Does it still work if I pick up my hand and reposition it, even if it slows everything down? Is there a preferred way to practice, like, maybe doing just the base line till that is automatic, then doing just the melody separately…? I really want to learn finger picking, but the fretting part is challenging!
