Fretboard Wizard is a game changer!
Fretboard Wizard has blown my mind. Tony made each concept so simple that I was left thinking: that’s all there is to it? Isn’t it harder? Why didn’t my previous instructors just tell me this?
Here is my big win. Stewball was the first song I ever learned on the guitar. I have been playing it for over 20 years using the same 4 chords. After the Melody section of FW I was able to play this Stewball note for note in under 20 minutes. After 20 years of mind numbing chords I solo!This is no fluke. I just figured out the melody to This Land is Your Land in 20 minutes. Fretboard Wizard has unlocked the fretboard for me.

That’s really terrific! FBW has been a major boost to my understanding of guitar theory, too. As you say, somehow Tony manages to explain things much clearer than any other source I’ve discovered. When I started learning 4 years ago I thought all I wanted was to strum a few chords and sing some campfire songs. Figured music theory and soloing and all that fancy stuff was far over my head. But since joining TAC 6 months ago, I’ve gone far down the rabbit hole of guitar geekdom – and I want to learn it all, eventually. Just wish I’d started when I was a little younger, but as they say, when the student is ready, the teacher appears. Happy playing😀

Ha. I wish I would have started it when I was younger? Tony’s not that old and TAC wasn’t here for us. Take Acoustic Tuesday and divide by 52. Yes, we are blessed to live in such a time as this. And we can enjoy it now with our new FBW knowledge for as long as our “clay jars” hold out. Great win.

IMHO- these are ALL great questions/thoughts!- and they hit it right on the head for me, also.

I’m on my second time thru FBW, and it is amazing how much MORE you “see” when you go back thru it.
I feel that right now, anyway, I am stronger in the area of guitar-knowledge than the area of guitar-ability, thanks to FBW…….. (and am having a little trouble applying all the knowledge I learned). But I think that’s the way I want it- rather than the other way around……
I’ll “get there”, but– as you know– there’s a LOT of stuff in there.
