Getting Lost
Posted by Rosindyj on September 1, 2022 at 4:38 pmI’m in my 1st year with Tony. I didn’t start challenges for 4 month. I’m having difficult finding the time during my work and summer family activities. I typically play 4 times per week, but missing a day frustrates me. I’d appreciate some advice, because other than this I’m enjoying making guitar music. Thanks, Jeff

Hiya Jeff,
It can be difficult to carve out some guitar time when your schedule has some very crowded days in it… My advice to you is, to think outside the box. You only really need to find 10 minutes on those crazy busy days. Think about all those little 10 minute windows you might be able to steal in the mornings, or before dinner, wherever. Keeping your guitar out on a stand helps to save time and allows you to quickly pick it up and play…
And if that isn’t going to work for you, maybe you can just skip a day but do a “makeup” session the next day when you might have more time. That way you will still be getting all your daily lesson check marks.
Go easy on yourself, this is about progress, not perfection. If you do miss a day, that’s OK!! Keep it enjoyable and you’ll see everything getting better with time!! C

@Rosenjs2002@gmail.com , You just have to make a routine of it. When you pick up that cup of coffee in the morning grab your guitar at the same time. If it helps to print out the challenge and go to another room to practice, try that. Once it’s a routine you’ll get it done everyday.

I could not agree more Cadgirl, I started getting up 1/2 hour earlier to accommodate my guitar playing and, I squeeze extra time during the day. Keeping the guitar out is paramount, great suggestion.

Thanks for the advice. Right when I get home from work will probably work best for me. Weekend are more flexible. I’ll give it a shot.

If you’re playing consistently 4 times a week, and enjoying it, I don’t see a problem! One of my favourite things about Tony and his TAC program is how he keeps emphasizing the “having fun” part of guitar learning. Being a guy who lets himself get frustrated far too easily, I have slowly been absorbing this “mantra” and it is really helping me😃 Sometimes even just picking up one of my guitars and mindlessly strumming it can be very satisfying now. Sounds a little weird, I know, but I love it!

Could not agree more GerryB56. It is the fun part that makes Guitar playing easier.

Really helpful. I play at least 3 to 4 times a week and sometimes it’s a grind. I’ll try being less intense.

All of you are terrific. I feel like I’m getting the philosophical (sp) side of TAC.

Hi @Rosenjs2002@gmail.com , if you are able to leave the guitar out of the case and in a stand, it makes grabbing it play that much easier to implement the suggestions above. Just offering as an idea. Have fun playing guitar! 😎🎸🎶
