  • Hmmm. I Bought a Guitar Foot Stool.

Posted by ProbablyBryan on April 15, 2024 at 8:22 pm

So, over the weekend, I bought a Donner Guitar Foot Stool — probably because I *thought* I would need one.

It’s quite nice and slim, but even at the lowest rung, it was WAY too high, and the guitar was now about 6 inches closer to my face.

I’m ready to pack it up and send it back.

Does anyone here use a stool?

    I can’t play without one…!!!

    Persevere… Raising the neck has it’s benefits… Less strenuous… 🙂

@ProbablyBryan I’m with @Fletch on this one… I have a $20 footrest made by On-Stage. It’s collapsable so could fit easily in the outer music pouch of a gig bag. Anyway it’s got 5 different height adjustment notches, and if I’m playing for more than 5 minutes it’s indispensable!! Much less wear and tear on our backs and joints if we use optimal ergonomics!!

Thanks… for some reason, even on the lowest level, it’s “too high.”

I’m using it for my RIGHT leg… am I using it wrong, because it’s not really comfortable.

The Classical guitar players use it on their LEFT leg. I’m 5’5″, so maybe it’s for taller people..?

This is the one I got from Donner. They all look the same:

Needs to be under your fretting hand Bryan…

      So unless you’re a South-Paw that’s your left leg, for a Classical kinda stance…

Right… it’s under my right foot (I’m right-handed), but my knee is too high.

*sigh* I’m wondering if I need the stool.
